Blog Blogger Blogging With LilacsNDreams

Blog Blogger Blogging With LilacsNDreams

Welcome everyone visiting with LilacsNDreams! Today is going to be a short posting. At least I will try to keep it short. I have been trying to focus a little bit more with my Blog. Working on doing the best I can with a weekly post for you, the day I choose to post, and the times that I choose to post with too. I will be doing a schedule of things, and then check in to see how my views are doing. I know it could also be the topic of my post at the time that also can draw attention as well. Many factors involved with all of this.

Last night I was just browsing on Google when I decided to check with the topic of blogs. I seen the different platforms mentioned to use for blogging. I also seen more of an update on the days to post with your blog, how often, and also the times that were noted for the day chosen as well.

With all of that being said I wanted to let you know that the day I choose to blog will be changing along with the time of day I will be blogging too. As of right now I am still doing once a week postings. I have decided I will have my weekly post on Wednesdays, and they will be posted from 9-10 a.m. I apologize for any inconvenience with this change. Trying to make it easier, and more comfortable for everyone.

So, I hope this works a little better for everyone. Again, I apologize for any schedule of inconvenience this may have created for anyone also.

Thanks so much for visiting with LilacsNDreams! Take care, and see you again soon.

DIY Dollar Tree Items Repurposed Restyled Handmade Home Decor

DIY Dollar Tree Items Repurposed Restyled Handmade Home Decor with LilacsNDreams. Welcome everyone, and happy you stopped by.

How many times have you found something online, or maybe found something in the store you’d really like to have? Then, you see the price, and it’s kind of like “I don’t need it that bad” Unfortunately the shipping cost can play into some of that reaction too. So then you spend some time searching online, and in the stores trying to find a better cost. Everywhere you look for home decor, or maybe kitchen decor the prices are out of range, maybe feels like it’s not worth the cost, feels like it’s made cheaply for the cost, and mixed feelings for what you like. Knowing all of this chances are that you might still be thinking about it too. You imagine it looking good here, would look great there, would blend with my decor, would add color, and many other thoughts come to mind, right? Then there is the thought why can’t they make it cheaper for someone like me?

There are some ways of getting around this issue so that your home may resemble what others have, or what you want. What’s even better is yours could be a little more unique than what you found, the price would be different, and why not have something like someone else but only better. It would have its own personal touch done by you, or by someone who did the work. So, if you like to craft, be some what creative, like to do things with your hands, you will enjoy this. If this isn’t you don’t worry. There are many other crafty creators out there who would be happy to make it for you too.

Keep in mind the Dollar Tree stores have many items that are great for crafting items like those you have seen. Dollar Tree is used a lot for these projects. Along with Dollar Tree you might have things at home that can be used, and can find with other stores reasonably priced as well. Items from thrifting, craft stores, from your own supply used with Dollar Tree items can make some really neat things.

This item is made using paint stir sticks, letters you can buy - use stencils - use a cricut machine to cut also. You could use some already made rabbit pieces and cover them with fabric, tissue, designed paper, scrapbook paper, dish cloth, etc. Use cotton balls for the tails, and ribbon to make some bows. Paint, flowers, glue, glue gun, modpodge, and some craft supplies to help. When it all gets put together it’s generally cheaper than the store bought items. Whether you make it, or someone else makes it the quality, and completed product will probably last a bit longer too. It wasn’t manufactured, it was handmade.

This adorable piece can be made using a white cutting board, add some buffalo plaid cloth, placemats, napkin, etc. Use different ribbon designs to make the bow. Now you cut the letters, maybe use some stickers, buy precut letters, and so many possibilities. The small bottom crate is from Dollar Tree. It has been painted, and attached to the cutting board so that it can sit on a counter top or table. If you like you could also add some ribbon, our rope in the hole on the handle to hang this piece too. Be creative with your colors you use, things you add to it, and so on.

This item is really neat too. There are so many different uses for this. This item consists of 2 cutting boards with 1 on each side. They used picture frames for the sides with some decorative paper in place of pictures. Use the same paper design for the cutting boards if you want too. You can always paint, use  colored cutting boards, leave them plain, etc. Slide in a mini pole through the hole in the handles so that you can carry this, or maybe hang a wash cloth or some other item from there. Endless choices, and made to your taste and likes.

This metal looking flower was made from the flexy metal tin pans from the Dollar Tree. A little paint, maybe chalk paint, wax , or anything you want can be added to the flower petals for color…after they have been cut from the pans of course.

This candle holder was made from the Dollar Tree plastic garden fences. Cut to size that you want, paint as you wish, glue together, and then decorate the inside as you want.  Use flicker candles, greenery, pictures, leaves, flowers, etc. The choice is yours, your personal touch, or your thoughts of what you want.

This is made with the paint sticks. These were varnished, or painted for what they wanted. The windmill with the welcome is something that Dollar Tree had sold at 1 time. Looks like it was painted, and lightly distressed. Flowers were added to the bottom, and the top too. Twine was nicely added making the ties/bows at top, and bottom.

This wall mounted windmill was made from the Dollar Tree flexy pans. They were cut, painted, and distressed. I cannot honestly remember exactly how the center was made. Looking in the craft section I am thinking it’s some of the long thin sticks connected with the center piece, and painted to match. Some areas with Dollar Tree craft section seem to offer more than others. This creation is pretty neat, huh?

You would never guess it, but the candle holder arches are made from the Dollar Tree toy race tracks. They have been painted, and distressed with the bottoms attached to the inside of a canvas picture flipped over. The top has been done with a painted lid, and some sort of ball that is maybe wooden, toy ball, and as we are seeing the possibilities are endless. Such a neat idea don’t you think?

Pizza Pan was used for this project. Paint, use some lace, a placemat was cut to fit and used for the center of the pan. Burlap bow was made, and attached along with a button in the center of the bow. A few flowers, some moss, and some greenery was also added. Rope was added to the inner part of the pan circle, and rope was used to make a hanger on the back of this too. Remember it can also sit in a holder.

This was another pizza pan used that had been painted, and distressed. The welcome had been removed from the bottom of the windmill. The windmill itself was added to the inner part of the pan. 2 sticks were cut to size making it look kind of like a fence at the bottom of the pan. You can see that greenery of sorts was added. You can add an attachment on back to hang, or this can also sit in a tabletop holder too.

So many things that can be thought of, and created with items from the Dollar Tree. Simple, but cute don’t you think? Items shown here are just a few ideas from time that have been shared. So many ways to be creative, and to craft. You can find more ideas on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook Groups, the internet with endless possibilities.

Hopefully you got some ideas from these projects shared with you, and gave you some things to consider. Things can be made from places not thought of, or imagined. The fun, uniqueness, and just enough to make things your own. That’s what makes handmade uniquely yours.

Thanks for visiting, and spending some time with LilacsNDreams!  Take care, and Happy crafting everyone!

DIY Handmade Repurpose Upcycle Dollar Tree Pizza Pan

DIY Handmade Repurpose Upcycle Dollar Tree Pizza Pan for your wall, or home decor.

I love when I can craft with some of the simplest pieces to make something new again. Using something not big, real simple to start with, to be creative, to have fun, and to make something unique for your home or gift giving too. Of course you can do this to resell with, or attend vendor fairs with as well.

Please view pictures shared below. They came from Pinterest, Google, and of course what I could find for ones that I had created. I am sharing a few to try, and show a little variety of things made. So many out there sharing it was hard to choose from them all.

Here is a picture of a pizza pan before creations are started. You can get the pans from Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Walmart, from thrifting, and many places to search at.

These first 3 pans are pictures of what I had created. When I first started I did the JOY pan, and I also did a Gingerbread Face which I could not find a picture for that, sorry. The last 2 above were created using 2 pizza pans. The front pan was bent in 1/2 or 3/4…take your time doing that…before painting. I have all the flowers and embellishments added loosely..like a vase…so that they can be changed as the customer or I wish to.

This collage were pans made by DebbieDoos

Here is another idea using the pans to make a stand which came from Tiny Tree Decor

Very versatile craft with the pizza pans. Paint, mod podge and add calendar pages, napkins, tissues, etc and then some sort of sealant to help keep them too. You could also use placemats, ribbon, rope, lace, scrapbook paper, buttons, stencils, cricut adhesive cut outs, and the possibilities are endless! You can make these pans to hang by adding a hanger to the back, or they look great propped in a table picture holder too.

This is a great way to make some home decor, wall decor, for your home, for the home of family and friends, and gift giving too. It’s great for those who do reselling. For more inspiration make sure you google this, look at Pinterest, look at Instagram, check Facebook groups, and etc.

I have a stack of pans to create with myself. Now to get into the creative mood to do something with them, and to have fun. Isn’t it great doing what you like to do?

Thanks so much for visiting with LilacsNDreams! Hope you enjoyed your visit, and it was inspirational for you to do as you wish. Take care, and Happy Crafting everyone!
