Glass Angels Repurposed Upcycled Reclaimed Home Decor

Glass Angels Handmade Repurposed Upcycled Reclaimed in Home Decor

Welcome to LilacsNDreams! I wanted to stop by, and share with everyone my completed project of Glass Angels I finished creating. I seen a picture of one done similar to what I have done, and liked the idea.

So, I bought some glass chandelier light covers on one of my thrift shopping journeys. I had gotten some styrofoam balls to use for the heads, and later found a store that has a holiday room. In that holiday room is Christmas items, and amongst those items they have the ball ornaments separated by colors. Thinking, and smiling I chose a few different colors to work with. Next was to figure out how to make some wings, buy some wings made, design some, etc. For these particular Angels I chose to make them from wired ribbon which I already have a collection started of that. I had a small collection of colored pipe cleaners, and other little embellishments I’ve collected over time.

I started these angels, and the easiest part to do was gluing their heads on. I had ideas for everything else I wanted to do. But, after I got started I altered this idea into that. I changed this thought to do that instead. I think you got the idea. What really takes me the longest in this process of everything is the gluing, drying, and setting time. I glue things, keep them in place a bit for things to start setting, and have them set enough that they will hold on their own. Once this happens I walk away for a while to let things set more permanently in order to complete other things I want to do before the piece is considered fully completed. Everyone has their own ways, techniques, and procedures that they do with crafting. This is my way that I am comfortable with, and it works for me as I have not had issues of anything falling apart, and I have had customers happy with their purchases as well.

This picture shows pretty much how it all started before I got these glass angels completed.

This is all 3 glass angels that I have completed so far. Each one is different in one way, or another.

This glass angel I chose to do with more of a green accent coloring. Her halo, wings, and embellishments focus around green coloring.

This angel was done with a soft pearl pink done around the neck, more of a white and silver wings with colored lines accenting it, and a simple clear fluorescent like button on front of her neck.

This last angel was done almost identical to  the one above here. Only difference is in the color of neckline that it has. It’s more of a dark berry like purple.

I will keep you updated as to when these will be made available in my Etsy Shoppe

Thanks so much for visiting with LilacsNDreams! Hope to see you again soon. Feel free to drop by anytime, leave a comment, share with all of us here, etc.

  4. Quartz is neutral in colour and so synthetic colours are added during the manufacturing process for obtaining great shades of tiles. Mirror specks are added during the final packing process, which attribute to the shiny nature of these tiles. Every colour is unique and holds great importance in the designing world. glitter for sale
