Upcycle Vintage Lamps to Solar Lights Candle Holders and Bird Baths
Welcome to LilacsNDreams! Vintage Lamps what to do with them. They get tossed, dumped, donated, inherited, and it’s sad to see some go to waste. There are many uses for them. Maybe a light cleaning, touch of paint, or craft them into something new also. Give them new life. What fun you can have creating, repurposing, and upcycling them. Just let your imagination go, and consider something you would like to have. I have seen many things done with Google, Pinterest is a great source, things people share on Facebook, and so on. I seen an adorable vintage set when thrifting. I figured why not give it a try. Have fun, and it was a learning task for me too.
This was a vintage lamp set I had found when thrifting. Just one of those times I wasn’t looking for them, but there they were. Not often that I have seen a matching pair, and to find this size too. So, I was excited. At the time carpet had been torn up at home, in search for what kind of floor we could agree on, walls being painted. So, I figured why not this project too?
I did get these Solar lights from Walmart. Things were kind of picked over. I was fortunate to find 2 matching ones when I did. Since I had a bit bigger base to work with I wanted a bigger solar lights for it too.
After I removed all the wiring, completely gutted the lamps, and the globe tops they had. I found a color I wanted them to be, and spray painted them. I used Rustoleum Burnished Amber Forged Hammered Paint & Primer that works for outside too. Was pleased the color blended well with the solar lights. Did 1 coating, let it dry…trying to be patient, and then I did add another coat to make sure there were no spots, and to get an even covering too.
This is the finishing product of what my upcycled vintage lamps became. I had them inside for the night while the glue was settling, and bonding with these pieces. They sat on our porch on each side of the staircase. I loved them, and got many compliments. They looked great during daytime hours, and were adorable at night too. Just enough light for where I needed it.
There are many things you can create with these. Use different sizes, some can be combined to the height you want, you can make a bird bath, candle holders, little water fountains, different shaped solar lights, and the possibilities are endless.
Different Candle Holders From Vintage Lamps
Love the ideas shared with how these were created into different candle holders! Cherished Vintage did a beautiful job with these!
Adorable bird bath made with this lamp. Colorful, bright, and so cute! The name I found with this project was Natalia Mathesen, and it came from Pinterest.
Upcycled Lamp Solar Light Decor
Another adorable Solar lights made by upcycling, and repurposing this lamp. Love what they did, and love the creativity using different pieces too. Hometalk.com did a great job, don’t you think?
LOVE how this water fountain birdbath was made. Soo adorable! I want one too. All I could find on this picture when it popped up was Pinterest. I couldn't find a name, or who to give the credit to. Such a cute idea, and I’m sure very relaxing with the running water too.
I was happy to make something old new again, and be able to bring them back to life in a new way. Was a fun project. Don’t forget that for more ideas to check with Pinterest, Google, and also check some of the craft groups with Facebook too.
Thanks for visiting with LilacsNDreams! Take care, be safe in all you do, and happy crafting too. See ya!
