Upcycle Repurpose Teapots Coffee Pots Cups Saucers

Upcycle Repurpose Teapots Coffee Pots Cups and Saucers

Hi, and Welcome to LilacsNDreams! Teapots, Coffee Pots, Cups and Saucers have collected over time. In your home, inherited, found while thrifting, etc. You have used them, decorated with them, some are from broken sets, lonely pieces, and now what do you do with what you have? Upcycle and Repurpose them! There are some fun ways that you can craft, and create with these pieces. Some fabulous uses for them that go beyond the kitchen. Below are just a few ideas of what has been repurposed with teapots, cups, and saucers. Indoor, and outdoor uses.

Simple alternative is to use a smaller decorative teapot as a tissue dispenser. You could always use an older piece that maybe needs some painting, or maybe decoupage done to the exterior of the pot too. Do what makes you happy. Remember no rules with crafting. This picture was found on Pinterest, Cecilia: My Thrift Store Addiction.  Teapot Tissue Dispenser

How cute! Use some vintage, or extra Tea Cups, and their saucers to make candle holders. You could make some cute different pin cushions too. These 2 pictures were found on google by Wonderful DIY
Check them out with some of their creations they did with pieces.

Another really neat thing to make with teapots, coffee pots, cups and saucers are bird feeders. Different waterfalls could be made also. Here is a picture showing the pieces as bird feeders. Cute, decorative, and a little charm added to your yard. I found this picture on X what use to be twitter. Her name is Crystal Hope @CrystalHope1979.

It can be overwhelming with the creativity, and possibilities that can be done. Yet, so enjoyable too! When thrifting sometimes you see unwanted pieces, some missing a lid, got a little ugly from time, are unwanted, and you know in some way they can be revived with a new life given to them. So, bring it home, and find some creative life to give it. Don’t forget that you might have some items sitting around home that could be used too. Remember, for those who don’t have the creative bug to do this there are others who create these items. Check with Google to find some, look on Facebook Marketplace, check Etsy or EBay, and have a look at Amazon too.

While out thrifting, yard sales, and junking you have some creative ideas to keep in mind too. Fill your own home decor with it, gift giving, or for you to sell. Have fun with it!

Thanks for visiting with LilacsNDreams! See you all again soon.

Vintage Bridal Bouquet Necklace Brooch Jewelry Repurposed

Vintage Bridal Bouquet Necklace Brooch Jewelry Repurposed

Hi! Welcome to LilacsNDreams! Vintage jewelry, vintage necklaces, vintage brooches, vintage earrings, and Bling…who doesn’t like this, right? When searching the internet you can see all kinds of vintage jewelry being offered, the jewelry is being displayed, and you will also see jewelry pieces that are used in many ways. For those who have vintage jewelry some are missing a stone, missing a pearl/bead, is broken, and dismembered in some way. Yet, they hang onto them not wanting to let go. Some people have done some amazing creative things with repurposing, and upcycling these pieces of the past.

One thing found using vintage, and memorable jewelry is the making of bridal bouquets. How precious to be able to hold your grandmother, or maybe your mother near by. Having the repurposed bouquet can now serve as a sentimental keepsake. Something that you can cherish for years to come. It can be passed on through generations with each owner adding a favorite jewelry piece of theirs. How precious!

These 2 pictures above came from Bidziuhandmade.com  Gorgeous, precious, and timely bouquets that they show.

Look at how all the different jewels were added to this making an adorable one of a kind tree. So precious don’t you think? This picture was found at Pinterest  by Posy & Flote.

Here is a precious picture frame that was upcycled. Different pieces of jewelry used like maybe a single earring, some pieces might get dismantled a bit to create what was wanted, and don’t forget to use an old watch face too. PandaHall.com  is where this picture was found from.

LOVE this heart that was made using different pieces of jewelry, and many different loose pieces from vintage jewelry too. Just adorable! Pinterest  this was from Mimi Penguin at Pinterest. Many things are shared at Pinterest.

I soo loved how this was put together too. This rhinestone vintage garden was done by JDs Vintage Vibes You can find this offered in their shop at Etsy

Many ideas, and things can be done with vintage jewelry, costume jewelry, maybe you have some precious pieces you want to do something with too. Some ideas were shared here to help you with what to maybe consider in reusing pieces you have, some you inherited, some found, or helping someone else too.   I like “bling” myself, and I hope you might be sparked with some creative ideas yourself. Reminder there are people you can find to make things for you if you feel more comfortable with that too.

Thanks so much for sharing your time with LilacsNDreams everyone. Have a wonderful “bling full” day. Take care, and see you again soon.

Upcycle Repurpose Restyle Plain Bookshelf to China Cabinet

Upcycle Repurpose Restyle Plain Bookshelf to China Cabinet

Hi! Welcome to LilacsNDreams! I have something to share I had seen a long time ago. I am sharing it now because it still applies to things that creators are still doing today. The post comes from Crafty Nest and she did this October 16, 2012. An old bookshelf that had been moved from room to room. Just couldn't decide on a place to use it, hang it, but didn’t really want to get rid of it. At the same time she was looking for a china cabinet to put in a spot she had for that. See below the pictures of before, after, and some instructions with it. If you wish to see it better on her site please visit her there, and ask her questions you may have too.

Before picture of how bookshelf looked

This is the after picture showing the formation from the bookshelf to the china stand

Pictures below here are visuals to the instructions she shared for this process.

Is this not lovely what she did, and like WOW! One of them moments of “who would have guessed” right? Beautiful!

I hope you enjoyed this DIY transformation of this bookshelf that’s been shared. Remember, you can see this fully at Crafty Nest , and it’s from her October 12, 2012 posting. I hope that this will help you, and again inspire you with pieces you have, or maybe some things to look for to work with. Upcycle, Repurpose, Recycle, Restyle, and Reimagine are some of the trends still for today.

Thanks so much for sharing your time with LilacsNDreams, and hope to see you visit again soon. Take care till the next time. . . . .

Upcycle Repurpose Liquor Bottles to Home Decor

Upcycle Repurpose Liquor Bottles to Home Decor

Hello, and Welcome to LilacsNDreams! I love when people are willing to show, and share their ideas of creations they have done. Love the sharing because it can also intrigue us to be creative with ideas shared. Ever get one of those moments that you see something, and then think “Who would have thought?” Don’t worry, it happens to a lot of us including me.

The picture above is showing how bottles were used with their bathroom decor. You can buy bottles, clean out some old bottles you had bought and used, and don’t forget that includes liquor bottles too. The bottles have been cleaned out, and decorated for this purpose. You can use some lotions in them, some sweet smelling bath salts, some bath oils, use as candle holders, soap dispensers, design for use as lighting, use as oil lamps outside, and so many uses to consider. This picture showing was found years ago on Pinterest.

Sometimes the bottles you use can be great for show on your dressers, vanities, on kitchen counters, on shelves, on your mantel, use for special occasions, great use for wedding decor, and the possibilities are endless. Liquor bottles, or glass bottles can be creatively repurposed, upcycled, reused, and restyled into a variety of decorative, and some functional items to use. As you will see some of the popular uses are like soap dispensers, vases, tiki torches, decor for weddings or your home, and you can also store liquids in them. Consider olive oil, or maybe a simple syrup too.

Looking at the pictures you can see, and follow where they were found too. A lot of them came from Pinterest…very good source to find pictures, and ideas.

Hope you enjoyed your visit with LilacsNDreams today. Hopefully you get some ideas, and can be inspired as I was too. Take care, and see you again soon.

Glass Angels Upcycled Repurposed Restyled Home Decor

Glass Angels Upcycled Repurposed Restyled Home Decor

Welcome to LilacsNDreams! Today I want to share some of my completed projects of Glass Angels I had completed. Also I found a couple other styled ones to share done by others too.

When I started creating Glass Angels I was using glass chandelier light covers I had found on one of my thrifting journeys. Different styles, different shapes, clear glass, hazel looking glass, and many choices to use for my angel bodies. I first wanted to use styrofoam balls for the angel heads. When I visited a thrift store that I frequented, I visited 1 that had a holiday room. I then seen something else to use. This is where I found a large assortment of ball ornaments. Some were in boxes of 4, 6, and then many loose ones to choose from too. The next thing to figure out was what to do for the angel wings. Find some premade, finding the right size to work with the body size and heads I found, maybe use some petals from flowers, but for the ones I started I decided to use wired ribbon and make my own. I had an assorted collection of ribbon I could choose from for this project. I have a small collection of pipe cleaners, and other embellishments I could use to dress the angels I created too.

I started the creation of these angels, and it was a simple start. Gluing the head to the body that I wanted to unite. Then, I had ideas for everything else that I wanted to do. I started with this step, and altered from the 1st idea I had, and thought of this way instead. Then, I changed that thought to maybe doing it this way instead. LOL! I think you have the idea of how some processes work out.

What really takes the longest amount of time is the gluing, drying, and setting time. This I take time with because I don’t feel it should be rushed if you want it to last too. So, once I get to this point I walk away to let things set, and dry more permanently. I know many use the dryers at this point, but I have had great success with letting things set, and bond more permanently this way. Once this process is done I then finish each item with all the extra things I want to do, and then is when the item is more permanently completed.

Everyone has their own ways, techniques, and procedures that they do with their crafting, and creating. This is my way that I am comfortable with, and I have found works for me. I have not had issues of things falling apart. More importantly customers have been happy with their purchases as well.

This picture shows a little bit of how I start the process of creating the glass angels.

These next pictures shows a little more of the completed angels I created. I used wired ribbon to make the wings for them. I apologize with the lighting. Older pictures, and older camera used.

Ok, with the angels below I used the glass bottles from Dollar Tree. The stoppers are the heads, I used pipe cleaners for their halos, used some glittery pointsettia leaves combined making the wings, bodies were filled with christmas fillers from Dollar Tree, and I used embellishments that I had in my stock to dress them.

Now, the angels below were created by other artists selling, and showing their work. The last angel pictured was found on Pinterest, and I could not get a name for the credit of it. The first 3 pictures are the same angel with different views, shows the seller who sells on Etsy, and it shows their idea for this creation. I Love it too! It opens my mind to looking at glass pieces in a different way, and how they can unite to make something beautiful.

Thanks so much for visiting with LilacsNDreams! Hope you enjoyed the visit, and I hope it was able to inspire you to create. If not you creating, then finding someone who creates, and finding pieces being offered by others. Feel free to stop by anytime, and share with us here. Take care!
